2. What this is about
AgentChat automatically replies to comments and direct messages on an Instagram account, for example with a link you requested by commenting a keyword. It uses Meta's official Instagram API.
3. Data we process
- your Instagram username, display name and Instagram ID (an identifier Instagram issues for this app)
- comments you write on the account's posts and direct messages you send to the account, including button replies
- whether you follow the account and your public follower count, as far as Instagram provides it
- your email address, if you share it in a message yourself
- clicks on links from the messages: time and browser identifier (user agent)
- logs of which automatic reply was sent and when
For owners of a connected account who publish reels through AgentChat: the uploaded video file, the caption, the planned time and the publishing status.
4. Purpose and legal basis
The data is processed to send you the reply you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to avoid duplicate replies and to evaluate how well the automations work (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is not sold and not shared with third parties for advertising.
5. Storage location and recipients
The data is stored in a database on the operator's server. Messages and comments pass through Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), where Meta's privacy policy also applies.
6. Retention
Data is kept as long as it is needed for the automations or until you request deletion. Technical entries that prevent duplicate processing are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Uploaded videos are stored only temporarily on the operator's server: until the reel is published on Instagram, cancelled or has failed, and in any case for at most 7 days. Then the file is deleted automatically. Caption, planned time and status of a scheduled reel stay with the account's data until deletion is requested.
7. Deletion and your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. How to request deletion of your data is described on the data deletion page. You can also request it by direct message to the account or by email.

2. Worum es geht
AgentChat beantwortet Kommentare und Direktnachrichten auf einem Instagram-Konto automatisch, zum Beispiel mit einem Link, den du per Kommentar-Stichwort angefordert hast. Dafür nutzt AgentChat die offizielle Instagram-Schnittstelle von Meta.
3. Welche Daten verarbeitet werden
- dein Instagram-Nutzername, dein Anzeigename und deine Instagram-ID (eine Kennung, die Instagram für diese App vergibt)
- Kommentare, die du unter Beiträgen des Kontos schreibst, und Direktnachrichten, die du an das Konto schickst, einschließlich Antworten auf Buttons
- ob du dem Konto folgst und deine öffentliche Follower-Zahl, soweit Instagram sie liefert
- deine E-Mail-Adresse, falls du sie in einer Nachricht selbst angibst
- Klicks auf Links aus den Nachrichten: Zeitpunkt und die Browserkennung (User-Agent)
- Protokolle darüber, welche automatische Antwort wann gesendet wurde
Für Inhaber eines verbundenen Kontos, die über AgentChat Reels veröffentlichen: die hochgeladene Videodatei, die Caption, der geplante Zeitpunkt und der Stand der Veröffentlichung.
4. Zweck und Rechtsgrundlage
Die Daten werden verarbeitet, um dir die angeforderte Antwort zu schicken (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO), um doppelte Antworten zu vermeiden und um auszuwerten, wie gut die Automationen funktionieren (berechtigtes Interesse, Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO). Die Daten werden nicht verkauft und nicht für Werbung an Dritte weitergegeben.
5. Speicherort und Empfänger
Die Daten liegen in einer Datenbank auf dem Server des Betreibers. Nachrichten und Kommentare laufen über Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), dort gelten zusätzlich die Datenschutzbestimmungen von Meta.
6. Speicherdauer
Die Daten bleiben gespeichert, solange sie für die Automationen gebraucht werden oder bis du ihre Löschung verlangst. Technische Einträge, die doppelte Verarbeitung verhindern, werden nach 14 Tagen automatisch gelöscht.
Hochgeladene Videos liegen nur vorübergehend auf dem Server des Betreibers: bis das Reel auf Instagram veröffentlicht, abgebrochen oder fehlgeschlagen ist, in jedem Fall höchstens 7 Tage. Danach wird die Datei automatisch gelöscht. Caption, geplanter Zeitpunkt und Stand eines eingeplanten Reels bleiben bei den Daten des Kontos, bis die Löschung verlangt wird.
7. Löschung und deine Rechte
Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch sowie das Recht, dich bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu beschweren. Wie du die Löschung deiner Daten anforderst, steht auf der Seite Datenlöschung. Du kannst sie auch per Direktnachricht an das Konto oder per E-Mail anfordern.
